Title: 06 Allure Cummins non-start

Has anyone had this problem?

If we sit in a site for several days (this last time only 6 days) without starting the engine, we have to use the engine boost because it is dead. It always starts with the boost but this doesn't seem like the right way to do business. (Our '06 Allure is only 4 months old.)

Any suggestions?

Re: [Country-Coach-Owners] '06 Allure Cummins non-start Had the same problem on my Intrigue. The CC crew at Beaudry changed out the echo charger and said that it is a common failure. No problems since.

Ditto on the EchoCharger. Ours was the same way. Once Beaudry swapped for new one, voila, no problems.

I recently had the same problem and switched out the echo charger. It only took about 20 minutes. The echo charger should be located right next to the inverter. West Marine has them online if CC won't cover it.

Yes, I had that problem.

In my case the echo charger was not charging when on shore power. After several dead batteries and lots of calls to Country Coach, I was unable to fix the problem.
I finally called the echo charger factory and got lots of help. What I found out was Country Coach reverse wired the echo charger at the factory. The echo charger never worked the first 8 months I had the coach. With the coach on shore power you should have a steady green light on the echo charger. I had a flashing green light which basicly means the system is not charging. It was very easy to switch the wires at the echo charger, and I haven't had problems since.
I would say make sure you have a steady green light on your echo charger when hooked up. If you don't I would let Country Coach know and go from there.
You are right something is very wrong if you have to use your boost after a short stay.
Good luck!

The echo charger fuse is usually the problem. I have had the fuse blow 2 times on my magna . It is an inline fuse that is just a few inched from the echo charger. Please check this before paying someone to replace the echo charger.

I had the same problem in 2000/2001 on a then new coach.
But my echocharger wasn't bad, just factory wired incorrectly (charging the house batteries from the engine/coach batteries instead of the other way around).

In my coach, that was an easy mistake, since both wires from the echo charger to either battery are connected to the battery boost solenoid.

Bringing it to my dealer (where I bought it) complaining about it never got it resolved until I wised up and started finding out how things are supposed to work.

By that time, the coach batteries had gone bad due to lack of charge.

Maybe some of those replaced echochargers were not really bad, just miswired?

Have experienced the same problem with my 06 Inspire. CC sent me a new Echo Charger after spending 30 min to change it. (Small bay to crawl into on your back). Bottom line the new Echo Charger did not work either. Seveal call's to CC about it and the problem was the circut breaker that sent the charge to the battery was poped out. Reset it and the new Echo Charger was giving charging green light.
Would highly recomment checking all the circut breakers as this may also be your problem. It was mine.

I had checked all the wiring of the EchoCharger and the breakers and the fuse. A replacement part got us back on the road to happy charging.
