I just worked my way through the Cummins literature on the new standards for 2007 & on!
To my poor befuddled old brain this document rivals the IRS instructions for AMT.
Who was it that said "When I ask the time of day, please don't tell me how to build a clock!"
No one can predict how this will effect the RV community in the long term but it would seem a fair assumption that diesel prices will continue to rise and the cost of engines also.

I read it also but it didn't say anything how the older engines will be effected by the changes in the fuel. do the low sulfur fuels provide enough lubrication to the injectors or will we have injector problems.

Back in 1986 I purchased a F250 with the International diesel engine. Around 1990 the state of California mandated a change in the formula for diesel fuel. Problems started in the trucking industry when engines started to fail. At first the state denied any connection between failures and the re formulated fuel.
My diesel engine suffered problems and it cost me $1250 to get it fixed plus the cost of a rental to get us home. If I recall correctly the fuel attacked the O rings in the fuel pump.
Finally, the state agreed there was a fault with the fuel. I received $500 (the maximum allowed) as compensation, not enough to cover the cost and aggravation but proved the owners were right about the bad fuel.
Imagine what a repair might cost on these big Cummins and Cats if something goes wrong.

Back in the early 90's when sulfur was reduced the first time, it caused International and ford to withdraw their warranty on injection pumps, because the o-rings on the injection pumps failed after being exposed to the then lower sulfur fuels. I got mine fixed early before they stopped warranty repairs, thanks to a letter from Banks engineering.
What concerns me more is that this new technology for 2007 and 2010 can be and maybe legislated to be retrofit on all diesel engines on medium and heavy duty trucks of the electronic type.
