I was told by Country Coach service personnel and other diesel truck mechanics that since asbestos pads have been banned, to expect break squeal, since today's pads are metallic. I was also told to heat my breaks up on a long downhill to glaze the pads. I did this and still find that when I am in city traffic, I get break squeal after a few stop lights. I have found that if I spray the pads and rotor with water to remove most of the metallic dust, it stops the break squeal until I get into street traffic and build the metallic dust up again.
