I read today that I44 going through Missouri is one of the worst roads in America. Any feedback from those of you who have been on it recently?

I am from Missouri and could not agree with you more! But the law has changed in Missouri and we all hope to see improvements in the next few years! I-44 is the worst in the country!

I-10 is not that bad folks, try I-10 in LA... Theres a challenge. How about I-40 from Amarillo to Oklahoma, the expansion seems for mile after mile will cause your teeth to fall out. TWI/11731 2004 Intrigue

I drove I-44 from Joplin to St. Louis 3 times in the last year on way to Cleveland Ohio and a couple of times on up to Buffalo.
Except for the section in St. Louis which can be bypassed by taking I-270 around the city, it is not all that bad. There has been a lot of work to improve it and work is still going on. Mind you there are some rather big hills east of Rolla, might slow a HH down. (I drove it in my mini hummer, not a motor home so people with motorhomes might feel different.) I-44 is for the most part, no worse than stretches of interstate in IL, IN, OH, PA and NY that I drove. I have also found many two lane roads that are excellent to drive on...Hwy 166 across southern Kansas, for example, is smooth, wide and easy to drive with long rolling hills and wide curves.

As for I-40, I drove it from Flagstaff to Oklahoma City just before Christmas in my motor home. I found it to be pretty smooth most of the waw; my teeth were still in when I reached Oklahoma. I had the cruise set right at 60 and got about 11 mpg.
