Thanks for the information.
Not a new coach. It is an 04 Intrigue, that cc sent a driver to Louisiana to pick up to do some warrenty work on and flew us up to get, but it seems new and good to get it back.
Once I get to Phoenix I know the roads home but any help to get down from the top of CA. will be a big help.
I am going to start down 101 in the morning but would like to avoid the big cities if possible.
Has anyone cut across from 101 down by Clear Lake and caught I-5.
If so where from there.
Thanks
Melvin & Kay

We have crossed the mountains via Clear Lake several times on our trips south from Oregon to the CA desert. You will reconnect to I-5 near Williams, CA.
This is a scenic drive so be sure to make it in daylight. There is a casino along the route that we have stayed at several times. Nothing special but OK.
We generally take Hwy 99 from Sacramento to Bakersfield simply because I-5 is boring and has limited facilities. Hwy 99 is four lane and nearly as fast. The McDonalds on the West side of Hwy 99 in Kingsburg, CA has a large parking area with plenty of room to spend the night. This is an interesting little town with a Swedish theme if you have time to go downtown.
From Bakersfield take Hwy 58 over Tehachapi Pass to Mohave, Lancaster and Palmdale. Then take 138 to San Bernadino. We enjoy this route and the scenery, Just before merging with I-15 be sure to watch for Mormon Rocks, Ok, you won't miss them, they are huge.
I-15 will take you South to I-10 and then you are your way East. At Indo you can continue East on 10 or go South on Hwy 111 along the Salton Sea to I-8. This will take you through Yuma and eventually connect with I-10. If you take this route we are at the Fountain of Youth Spa a few miles N of Niland, CA. Overnight here is about $28 I think and they have 4 spas and two pools along with a lot of other amenities. Sorry no golf course, Most of those are up the road in Palm Springs
I am sure that others will suggest all freeways but to me that is about like riding in a jet and after all why are we living this lifestyle if we just want to get from A to B. Of course all this trivia is from a guy that pulled a 36' fifth wheel the length of Hwy 1 on the CA coast and loved the view on every turn.

I would like to thank TWI, JDM, and Jim & Linda for all the helpfull information. We will be leaving Crescent City as soon as I post this and will be traveling south and put in a hard day so I can sneek in a day Sunday to watch the first NASCAR race and watch #8 start a better year. I'll keep an eye on this post as much as possible when we have wi-fi in campground.
Thanks

Just be prepared Herb, if I ever meet you, you are going to get a big hug for sending the solution to getting the door open to the Splendide washer. I'm sure John will want to also as I always made a comment about not being able to open THAT door and he got tired of hearing about it.
Thanks for taking the time to find out about it and then posting it.

P.S. the directions to how to fix the problem were very easy to understand and follow, but the hardest part to us was, how on earth did you make that warning label?

Hello:
Thanks for those tips on fuel economy.
We feel a five star drive beats every other way to get to where ever we want to go.

To Sue and Bob Conant! I emailed them and Sue responded with some helpful information about changing from Dish to DirecTV and I now do not have to change satellites to view all of the channels I've ordered and I'll have the distant channels soon's I get to a fax machine with that infernal form.
Country Coach folk are fantastic!
