I don't know if anyone is interested, but I finally managed to post photos of the rear brake/ seal failure in process of being repaired in the photo albums... sorry it took so long. This was from my post about "Seized s-cams" and the failed inner seal.

I wish to express my appreciation for the picture study of the brake job.
It answered some questions in my mind about how the unit came appart.
It also pointed out that there are those coaches out there in a partial state of failure. To recognise the begining signs is what we must understand. It would be helpful if you would explain what lead up to the time when you realized there was failure. How long in time or mileage did it go before treatment.
I have an Intrigue which has similar but lighter components but the same pontential for failure. This is a great service to the readers.
I attempted to convey a similar picture study about the repair of a wind damaged Zip-Dee awning at very little cost but had no comments.
Your presentation is to be congratulated.

Re: [Country-Coach-Owners] Re: photos of brakes postedYes, thank you all for the pix. They are worth a 1000 words when it comes to helping with a problem.
Most folks probably didn't say anything, but if they're like me, sure appreciate the effort in posting them.

Why thank you Mr. Green... that was very kind! I wish I could tell you what precipitated that... I haven't a clue. PLease look at the thread from my previous post #20789 on Feb 4.2006. There is an entire thread in which someone more technical than I ( and that doesn't take much...) explained the S-cams in a more accurate way and how to check for it.
I wouldn't have known I had a problem if a CC tech hadn't told me at the Ft. Myer's rally.
I am solo fulltime and widowed. So unfortunately my lack of mechanical ability can be a real disadvantage. But luck has been with me so far!!! ( luck and preventative maintenence...)
You might want to pose questions to the other folks to see if anyone else with mechanical expertise or experience with this has more to add.
You are welcome for the pictures... this is exactly why I took them, so someone could benefit from my experience. I was distracted and forgot to post them until now. I have a few more, but I thought those were pretty sufficient. I was afraid to write too much on each picture because it might not be technically correct. I know my limits! Wish I could help more. Someone at Country Coach was considering writing an article on this for the Destinations magazine, so maybe you will see an article in the future.

Rosemary,
Nice pictures !! I only wish I could say they bring back fond memories....With currently over 750 plus pairs of these wheels in my business that run these brakes and seals if anyone wants specific information email me off forum. I'd be happy to explain the particulars of brakes, slack adjusters and wheel seals.

Thanks Michael,
I sent you an email thanking you for your explanation on that thread, but I am not sure if you got it. It was very concise if anyone wants to understand this issue. Can I assume you have a large trucking business? I guess you have seen this before!
It is not often that owners get to watch repairs done especially in RV repair facilities. Ken Robertson's says they "have nothing to hide," so I was present to see all repairs. It's a good opportunity to learn a little bit. Fascinating to watch and see the "guts" if you never have before. Glad to be able to share. But this was not a fond memory for me either...
These motorhomes are very complex beasts!
Thanks again for your expertise!

Rosemary,
I apologize. I never received your email. I suspect that you were "filtered" out by my junk mail filters. If you still have it send it again and I'll promise to look for it.

I used the "send email" link to try it again. Sometimes you don't know if someone gets an email you send from this group. I wonder why there is no bounce back message if they don't get it? Wish there was...
let me know if you don't receive it this time.I am curious to see if this works.
