Has anyone removed their Thetford toilet yet? Just wondering if it will SLIDE out of there, or does it have to be LIFTED up off of the floor to get it out? I realize that I'll have to disconnect electrical and plumbing and remove the two screws in the base. Just wondering if there is a clamp inside there that must be removed/loosened to free the toilet from the hole in the floor. I shined a mirror back there from the rear and got a glimps of a hose band clamp inside the toilet underneath the bowl.
Just previously had repair center replace electronics for the electric flush. Now there is a continuous oder in there that won't go away.
They must not have sealed it very well or something. I don't really want to take it back to them if I can do it myself. Thanks for any input.

Larry Feather,
We just had our toilet removed because the bowl was not holding water any more. Country Coach Showcase in Roseville did the work and a wonderful job.
Just give them a call 1-800-318-0936,

Larry,
Sounds like the repair center removed the toilet to do the electronics. If you had no odor before the repair, I would guess they "cheated" and did not replace the wax seal. That toilet should lift off once you disconnect everything and remove the bolts. I do not think the clamp you see is a sealing issue. Clean everything, and install a new wax seal.

Larry, If Fred is right, that really stinks (2 ways).
I fixed mine a couple of weeks ago, and replaced the wax seal at the cost of $1.99 (Ace h/w). I needed to replace the flapper, as after 5 years its rubber ring was not holding the water in the bowl.

Thanks to all for the help. I took the toilet out and noticed that the large foam rubber seal looked deformed. I bought a wax seal at Lowes and now have no more odor. Thanks again.
