As I recall, the lifts use the current hitch which is only rated at 600# on our 2006 . . . is it different on earlier models? Never could quite figure how we could have a 10,000# hitch and only a 600# load allowed on it . . .

You have two different load conditions. One is lateral and the other is vertical load. The 600# is vertical load limits and the 10,000# is lateral load. The older coaches have about the same limits. Some are 500/7k.

This seems to get a lot of discussion though the fact do not seem to come out.
Through my journey to get my trailer hutches properly for tolwing behind our single rear axle 05 Inspire I learned that the limiting factor to the CCI tongue weight limit of 600 lbs is center squarely aroung the carrying capacity of the rear axle and not the hitch.
Weighing you coach on all four points and front and rear axles will tell you if you can handle more than 600 lbs. The CCi representative I worked with was very clear that the hitch was fine but the rear axle was the issue. I guess the tag axle would be better but the price difference from the Inspire was just too mcg for our budget.
