Has anyone joined Passport America and is it worth while? Is it useful in the Northeast part of US and Canada?

we joined passport America a few years ago. it more than pays for the $44 dues for us. if your a first time member you can save $10 on the first years dues by joining through camping world presidents club. we are full timers and have been traveling throughout the states . we also belong to a few other clubs. enjoy

I joined last July. I have not yet stayed at any of the campgrounds. There just hasn't been one on my path of travel. I plan to try harder to make use of the member campgrounds on my upcoming trip. Then I will decide if I want to continue my membership.

I have an friend who has used them, Thousand Trails, and Coast-to- Coast. The determining factor seem to be if you are willing to give up conveniece and the general quaility of the park to save money.
It does not take alot of analysis to figure out what will happen if a park rents out its spaces for $10 per night. It will get old and ratty looking quick.
Most of them have limited space avialable as well. There seems to be more that a little bait and switch going on. They promise access, but then sell unlimited memberships creating shortages (I have no direct knowlidge about Passport America in this regard).
If you are full time and on a tight budget, the clubs might be for you if you plan ahead well in advance.
If you like to stay in top quality parks and have enough resouces to spend $30-50 dollars per night, I would avoid them.
We have sampled a few of the "club" parks and checked out early. I would not stay in the ones we visited for free!!!
