I have a 99 Allure with the subject transmission and under slow heavy uphill load it will downshift hard from 6 to 5 to 4. Allison says there is nothing wrong. I tow a Jeep and it is 4000 pounds under GVE.

Anyone have similar problems and or solutions.

Thanks,

I did and it was the cable harness assembly between the ECM module of the engine to the Control module of the Transmission. The harness was to close to the engine and fried the insulation of the cable. TWI 30255 Allure w/ISC
