Jim Sorry about the previous message, wrong key. This has come up on an SOB, of ours, that was Cummins ISC powered. We were getting a flicker, once in a while, with indicated oil pressure. Knowing that the problem was electrical and not oil pressure, I was concerned, if the ECM picked this up, it might such down the engine. I went to Cummins and they determined it was the sending unit. Because of troubles with this series of send units, their only replacement was the 55 pound idiot gadge. It is like an idiot light and it only shows 55 unless the pressure is less than 10 pounds. Never more either. Sounds like that is what you have. I'd talk to Cummins.

Per CC and personal experience, the sending unit has to match i.e. same manufacturer as the dash gauge.
