I'm the guy who wrote a couple of weeks ago about a noisy Flojet water pump. Here is an update. I first replaced the water filter cartridge with a hydro Life #C2065. The problem got worse with the addition of pulsations on the pump. I took the cartridge out and the pulsation stopped...an indication of resistance from the cartidge. I then used the #C247l cartridge (the same as the original one). It eliminated the pulsation but not the noise.

I replaced the pump. The noise from the water hammering was worse.
It then occured to me that the problem might be the pressure switch setting on the pump. The pressure switch is inside the small square protrusion on the front of the pump. I removed the cover (the single screw on the bottom) and turned the adjustment screw. I am happy to report that changing the setting eliminated all of the water hammering noise and increased the water flow. Its too bad Flojet does not indicate how to adjust the pressure switch in their literature or on their web site. It would have saved me a lot of pain and the cost of a new pump. The good news is that I now have a spare pump
