Does anyone know why the C C Fla Rally was cancelled at the Lee Center in Fort Meyers? Had such a good time there last yr and the facilities were great. Hope the facilities in the new location are as good.

According to DESTINATIONS magazine, it's because Florida law will not allow the company to display coaches. I wonder, however, if Fla. does not allow out of state dealers to display and sell coaches at the rally????

The East Coat Homecoming (Jan Rally in Ft Meyers) is being combined with the FMCA pre rally in Georgia just as the West Coast Homecoming is being combined with the summer FMCA pre rally. Not stated but the homecoming rallys are very costly and they will likely get the same people in March as folks head north. Joe Cronin 6223

I also just read the Destinations notice about the East Coast Reunion being moved from Ft. Myers, FL in Jan to somewhere in GA in March. Having been to some rallys in southern GA in March before (most recently the CCI mud bog rally at Moultrie, GA in March, 2005) our experience is that the weather can be wickedly bad in March in southern GA. We've been living in Hilton Head Island for over 20 years and can attest to the unpredictable weather for this region in March, and it's sometimes violent stuff. It's possible that next year could be the exception, but we'll wait until a couple of days before committing to spending another miserable time anywhere near Perry, GA in March. Late April or May would be far better weather wise, but probably does not mesh with other schedules.
I suppose that displaying coaches is a serious make or break deal for these rallies vs. time, place and weather considerations for the event.

Tom & Patty:

We are bummed out too having also suffered through the Moultrie Mud Bog. Last year we left sunny FLA to go the Moultrie and then returned North. Won't make that mistake again. We were bummed out until mid May when it finally got warm. The thought of going to So Ga again in mid March is not pretty. I agree later (like May) would be much better. But FMCA screws that up. Not sure if we will sign up to go or not. Its going to be hard to get us out of FLA in March again!!!
