Glen,

We use Silverleaf VMS200 to monitor drive train. Dash gages show excessive temperatures.
You will have more heat during first 2000 miles. After we crossed rockies, the fan ran much less. At 16000 miles now, we drove from FL to AR yesterday, without once exceeding 207 or hearing fan run for cooling. We ran 62, towed a 7000 # truck, used dash AC some when driving into sun. Max engine temp was 205, max Allison temp was 220 in city traffic. Highway Allison temps were 195 to 208.
Last week in FL with higher daytime temps, we still did not have audible engine fan.
Last year, each time we saw 208 on Silverleaf, we heard fan on high & saw temp go below 208.
We know the whine sound of high fan, it is heard every time Pac brake engages.
We use Pac brake & cruise control always, neutral when waiting & let Allison choose shifts up hill & down.
Your oil pressure may improve when you get a new filter & 9.5 gallons of 10W30 oil. We had low pressure & blowing oil before first oil change @ 2882 miles.

We just took our first trip in our new 2006 Inspire. We have a Cat C9.
We were running about 60-65 mph and no air conditioning.

The temperature gauge was reading 210 most of the trip. The coolant levels showed full. This seems exceptionally high to me.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, do you know if this is normal or what is causing the high temperature readings?

Eric,

I am curious about your statement below. Do you use 10W30 oil for your Cat. motor? Jim,
