Hey Country Coach owners, about a month ago, a member of the group reported a scam on purchasing his coach. Well, the little SOB tried doing it to me. Below is his email. Thought everyone should see it. Tony Johnson, runs a real good chance of having his ____ handed to him on a plate. That is if my computer geak son can track him for me.
Steve
PS; I do have my coach on the market on RVonline.

Thanks for sharing this! I hope you've contacted rvonline, too about it...they need to advise everyone about this potential scam...it's scary! Hope you can get to the bottom of it! You should consider posting about it on rv.net, escapees, etc.

This is a scam that has been going on for a long time. Any time you advertise something on the internet, you are likely to get this stuff. I think I read somewhere that the scam is operated out of Nigeria. You are not likely to get your hands on him, and his name is certainly not Tony Jackson.
Some of the folks that got burned on these lost not only the refunded money but the item they were selling as well.

Here's the link to many of the Nigerian scam letters that have been posted at this site. It may be educational for RV'ers trying to sell a motorhome who haven't heard of the tactics before. At least it is entertaining.

And, from the sentence structure you can tell this is not an American writing the email. It is probably one of the Nigerian scammers, there are some really funny ones posted on a site that I have visited before. One involving a gentleman in England who played them along for a time before the fellow in Nigeria caught on and told the Englishman to @#$$#@# himself and the Queen! It was becoming a hilarious exchange and I hated to see it end. More entertaining than many comic routines I've seen on TV. you can find these by searching on Nigerian Scams on one of the search engines. Anyone who falls for one of these scams probably shouldn't be driving one of these big motorhomes on public highways so I am sure that none of us on this board will fall victim.....well, at least most of us won't.

Steve, I was the one that reported this as a possible scam. Looks like I was right. He has now contacted me, or my wife, three times, ad each time promissed to send an e-mail outlining his proposal. When confronted with the fact he had previously promissed to send his info but failed to do so he said our spam guard had evidently stopped it. Ha!
I hope you can track him down. Is your coach listed on RVonline? I feel like that's where he got my name and contact data. I'm wondering if we should contact RVonline and tell them what's going on.

Oops--I see you are listed on RVonline, so that's obviously the source of his contacts. Since he did send you his proposal, would you mind contacting RVonline and advising them? They may be able to do something to stop this guy.

Walt did you sell your Coach? May I ask where are you listing the unit?
Thank you,
