Has anyone tried biodiesel in their coach? What about adding straight canola oil? The difference between biodieles and vegtable oil is that for biodiesel the oil is transesterified, whatever that means. Anyone know what transesterifying the oil does?
I know that 100% oil would be a problem (too high a viscosity, for one), but if diesel prices keep going up, mixing a little canola oil would be cheaper then running on straight petro-diesel. Obviously, if it would cause engine problems nobody should do that, but I wonder in the 10% range if it would work OK.

I've not used it in my CC 3208, but use it in my Ford truck whenever I can find it. The higher the percentage the better. The only reason I've not used it in my motor home is that I drive it very little. As a full timer I spend most of my time in one place. I would not hesitate for one instant to put it in the coach, it makes the truck run so much better than this crap USLD we are forced to use because of the EPA, it is like night and day. Hell, I'm a poet too.

Y'all know you can't run straight canola I hope. I've been driving a personal diesel of one sort or another ever since GM first came out with that joke they were using in the 70's. I would put no more than a gallon of canola to a hundred gallons of dino fuel. That much will slow down the damage this ULSD is doing to our engines.

I like and use biodiesel except when coach will be parked. Biodiesel is veggie stuff with bacteria, so it rapidly turns to bacteria poo. Frederic, I do not want to invade your territory but this needs writing.
If you use your diesel, it is good to use biodiesel. If you park your diesel, biodiesel will degrade quickly. Bacteria poo is not good for tanks, tubes, filters, injectors, pumps or pistons.
Perhaps some one knows of an additive for biodiesel that stops bacteria for 2 months?
