Have I lost my mind? I test drive two different CC units both 40' and both with 4 slides. Both indicated Trans. Temps in excess of 250 and the salespersons has no comment, no comment so far from CC who's local repre. is in our area. I am looking for input I read seeral messages regarding in Inspire, but none on the Intrigue or Allure. My current Allure in a run up the coast of CA and the trans. temp never exceed 185 and the gauge and the silver leaf are almost the same reading.
What am I missing? or should I just search another brand?

Was the 250 on the Silverleaf or the dash gauge? The dash gauge is measureing the trans temp at the worst possible location. My coach has a 40 degree or more difference between the Silverleaf and the dash gauge. With the tranny cooler installed the Silverleaf shows 165 and the dash gauge shows 200-210.

We've heard a lot depends on where the sensors are, but...we need to know what is normal and what is not. There is some good info on tranny temps in the files section and you'll probably get more info. Here. More should be written after the rally.

Just to throw my 2 cents in...
Picked up my 06 Allure with the ISL on Monday in Vegas.
During drives with the dealer the gauge would read about 210 or so; dealer said it was normal (of course we know how much faith to put into those statements!).
OK, drove that afternoon in 100+ degree weather to Pahrump which is a fairly long uphill run. Gauge would go to about 230. Silverleaf would run between 204 and 228.
Then the next day came down into CA via the 15 with readings about the same until I got to the mountain town of Julian where I had to pull some short, but steep hills. gauge was just above 230 and Silverleaf was 230-235.
Last section I had to pull was abotu 1/3 mile in 1st gear. By the time I reached the top gauge was pegged and silverleaf hit 245.
Throughout all of this whenever the temp woudl start to climb I woudl check and make sure that my RPM's were abotu 2,000 (+/- a hundred or so).
When I hit the 245 I stopped and put in in neutral and ran it at fast idle which brought it back down to about 230 in just about 2-3 minutes.
Called CC who told me that in the weather and hills I was climbing the 230 or so range woudl not be unusual but the 245 was...I'm 2 weeks out from being able to get an appointment where the service center is going to check to see if the fan was keeping up on speed.
SOmehow I doubt it to bethe fan as the engine temp never climbed much beyond 195-200...just the transmission was climbing.
Re the difference between the Silverleaf and the dash it seems that the dash was anywhere from 10-20 degrees higher than the silverleaf.

I have an '06 Allure with the ISL...picked it up in March of this year.
On a recent trip from Florida to Tennessee I experienced pretty much the same tranny temps that you did, especially on the I-26 mountain pull between Asheville, NC and Erwin, TN.
My dash gauge runs pretty much at 230 most of the time while the silverleaf runs 10-20 degrees cooler.
It will be interesting to see what, if anything, is the fix for this. Apparently a new cooler seems to be necessary.
