I understand there is a design flaw in the foam used in the 2002 and newer Avionics entry door and screen door weather seals. My mechanic believes it is because the factory installed several layers of open- cell foam in the jamb which acts like a sponge soaking up rainwater and eventually, when full, it seeps down onto the vinyl entry step inside the coach and puddles up. He has advised CCI to get closed- cell foam (as on automotive weather stripping) and that might take care of the problem.
Heard through the grapevine that a lot of these doors are leaking but have not heard if the replacement weather seals are out.
Just curious if anyone else has encountered/fixed this problem.
