Question for you folks
I have had my CC for 1 year now and my roadside assistance is over. I get adds for Good Sam and Camping World about 2 times a month.
I would like to hear any thoughts on who to use for a towing provider.
For my 40ft toy.
One last item CC International subscripition is up as well. It's $50 to rejoing it. What exactly other than that address book do they do for us?
Thanks

We use RV Roadhelp which is a combination of the Allstate motor Club and KOA. You get a KOA discount card and road service for all vehicles for the price of the road service. We also belong to CC Internation. Your membership includes the magazine and I believe you need to be a member to go to the rallies but I am not sure about that. I think the rallies are important because you learn a lot in the seminars not to mention the free repairs.

We have been Good Sam members since 1991 and have used them twice - once five years ago for a thrown tread on I40 in 110 temperature in AZ and the second time last week. From the middle of nowhere AZ, a tow truck turned up, mounted the spare - yes there were spares back then! - and we were back on the road in 45 minutes. Last week I sank the RV up to its chassis on what looked like firm grass and again, 45 minutes later we were back on the road having been winched out by a tow truck. In each case we did no more than make one phone call, since the paperwork and provide the VIN. No bills, no payment, no frustration, no hassle. We regard this as the best $90.00 per year we spend on security. The service also covers emergency service for all family vehicle and a further bonus of 10% discount at many campgrounds.
In our experience these folk perform as advertised - pretty awesome eh?

I have had the Good Sam Roadside assistance for several years. Thankfully we have not had to use it, but several motorhoming friends have and they swear by it. So did the tow/service companies who responded to the emergency call.
CC International dues provide you with the monthly magazine, owner directory and access to rally's. Could be other benefits that I an unaware of.

Ian:
CCI roadside service is provided by Coachnet out of Lake Havasu, AZ.
They are a very large company that provides emergency service to many of the new coach manufacturers including Winnebago, Monaco and CCI.
They also provide emergency service for FMCA and most of the plans are very similar. Last time I checked, the prices were identical (around $89/yr) but the FMCA contract included 1/2 hour of paid labor per breakdown for simple repairs made by a mechanic or tow operator.
I think they provide better "technical assistance" over the phone, as their techs can sometimes talk you through a problem before dispatching a wrecker. They say that they will provide non-emergency information, too and give advice on where to have service provided.
I recently broke down in my 2002 Allure and found them helpful with several ideas. They contacted several possible places to repair the coach and we worked out a suitable choice beforehand. I eventually needed towing and all went well, except that they didn't mention the RV's 12 foot 1 inch height to the wrecker service. They sent a landall truck (a higher version of a flatbed) and it was illegal for him to haul anything THAT tall. Guess he was expecting a shorter coach. Next time I would be sure to tell the rep the coaches' height, weight and length to avoid confusion.
Anyway, they quickly dispatched a regular wrecker with a long reach hook for the front axle and it all went well. As the others have said, no bills, no hassles, just a good tow. They even phoned and wrote back to see that I was satisfied. If only my repair shop were so efficient.
The other comments on the CCI club are right on target. It is mainly a social situation, but still worthwhile. I think there are some discounts on parts ordered through the factory, also.
