Has anyone had any leaks in their coach? Slides leaking? We found our carpet wet, and mold on the wall.

We had a leak at the corner of the top of the kitchen slide. Found water running down the wall and out of the bass speaker. Had it to CC and they tried to get it to leak again, but never did. They did reseal the corners of the slide. We were in 7" of snow and it must have been the angle the coach was sitting and how the melting snow dripped. It hasn't leaked since, but we haven't been in snow either, but plenty of rain.

Sue,

Snow melt CAN be different from any normal weatherproofing problem in that it will hold water at different angles. I have seen house and commercial roofs that leak with heavy snow build-up that never leak again otherwise.

So it should be quite easy to resolve that you stay away from heavy snowfall. :-)

Our intentions, that is for sure! We happened to be sitting at a great RV shop waiting our turn to get in the barn to have routine maintenance done etc. The last snow storm of the season near Salt Lake. The next day it was beautiful so everything started melting and we discovered a leak somewhere. Must have been the angle of the coach, slide etc. to find a pin hole. I have to say CC did everything but make it snow to find the leak. We saw the coach sitting outside with a hose attached to a ladder with the water raining over the slide and it never leaked again. They re-sealed the slide, then added more sealer once it dried. If it leaks again, I can't get too angry with CC for they really tried their best.

We were at this repair service again last week getting our inverter replaced and it threatened snow.....we said we were leaving!

Simply because they can't find the leak doesn't relieve CC of their responsibility to fix THEIR problem. Any leak in a motorhome is a potentially serious problem and I would stay on them until they fix THEIR problem. Notice the distinction that I make by emphasizing that it is THEIR problem and you shouldn't let them allow them to slide the responsibilty over to you no matter how sympathetic you might be to their efforts.

If it ever were to leak again, we'd get on them. But for now I don't know what else we could do . They did everything to emulate the problem and did their best at the time to solve it, even tho' they could not get it to leak, and we have not seen evidence of leaking either. So for now, all is ok, until otherwise noted.
