Anyone know how long (in general) inverter/echo chargers will operate before they fail and need to be replaced - and are they rebuildable?
I'm not experiencing any problems but usually leave my coach plugged in over the winter - Hurricane set at 42 degrees - inside of an outbuilding, and allowing the charger to float charge the batteries as needed. Don't always go out every day to see all is well, but I'm thinking maybe with 3 years on the inverter/Echo charger I might be pushing my luck. Any of you "live in-year round" members know how long I can expect to get out of my unit?
Thanks for the advise in advance.

Hi Mark P.
Our coach was delivered July 7 2000 and the echo charger still works correctly. Since the green LED indicates power and can blink or change color(see your manual) but not indicate if the chassis battery is being charged, consider the following.
1. Check the chassis voltage at some interval.
2. Buy a backup - about $100.
3. Have some kind of alarm or readout(local or remote from the coach).
4. Look at msg# 25368 for an alarm I put on the chassis battery which
sounds if the voltage drops below 12.6vdc.
Run your engine once a month and monitor alternator operation. verify both echo charger and inverter/charger are working.
CCI still reverses leads and makes poor and crossed connections in this hookup during manufacturer.

Hi Fred - Thanks for the input - some clarification on item #2 "buy a backup" I'm assuming you mean a backup echo charger for about $100?
I went out to your message #25368 and attempted to open the URL listed but could not get the link to work - any suggestions on how to access the web page?
Thanks again
