Will be picking up a new Allure tommorrow and wanted to know what the best extended warrany company might be. Will be having most service in Fl.

Have got a quote from Warranty Experts and it appears to be a good policy. Does anyone have any info on them.
I am thinking a 7yr, 70k and they quote 3838.00. Purchace date (not service date) $100 per visit not per item deductible.
I want someone the shops like to work with if there is such a thing.

Thank for any help

Read the fine print. A friend just had a transmission failure on a car and thought it would be covered only to discover in the fine print there was a limit of $1,500 for each repair and before they would pay, the trans had to be completely torn down and inspected by their rep and that would cost $900.00 of the $1,500.

I purchased a 7-year extended warranty with my coach in 2000.
The cost was close to $4,000.

I have had a number of problems with the coach. None were covered by the warranty. Some possibly covered items had problems in the first year and were covered by the factory warranty.

If I purchase another coach, I'll leave the money in a savings account, and use it for future coach repairs.

Hi, we have done business with Dave Gardner at Warranty Experts since 1997. He sells the best policy for the best price. We just purchased the policy for our 07 Affinity. Bumper to bumper and also covers wear & tear. DKH 07 Aff 6767

I am not near the coach where the paperwork is. I recall it covered most/all of the house related stuff (air, fridge, stove, etc). If one can afford a $4k or more warranty, one can likely afford the replacement cost of any of the things that are covered. In my case, none of those ever failed. I was more generic in stating that I probably would not buy one ever again.
When I buy electronic stuff, I always decline the offered extended warranty. If it was a really good deal for the customer, it wouldn't be offered.

Are you sure about "wear & tear"? Sounds too good to be true.
BTW, how much did they charge?

Thanks for any info.

I personally tend to agree that for 90+% of folks that can afford the up front $4K, you are better off putting that $4K in a "safe" investment.
It's that other 10% of the time that worries a lot of folks, especially my "boss", aka wife. On our current and previous coach, I bought a warranty / service policy from RVvprotection.net. They were by far the lowest price I could find and had close to the best coverage, if not the best. Scott Stevens, the owner is also a pleasure to do business with. His website is http://www.rvprotection.net/ (http://www.rvprotection.net/) and you can download the entire contract from his site to read prior to purchasing.

Ken, I will post the info tomorrow. I will be happy to put a copy of the contract if anyone cares to read it.

Jim, as far as selling the coach: we put it on rvonline and rvregistry.com and 2 other sites that we will have to look up and post to you later. The extended warranty has always been the biggest factor of a private sale. DKH

Shoot, I didn't think of that angle when I bought my new coach, or with the old unit. Hmmm, well I will get going and see what happens. My neighbor has a 2005 Beaver with the extended warranty and he is just getting had. So without really checking I passed on the Warranty.

I forgot to ask, can you get the warranty after you have purchased the RV say 120 days?

Hi, yes you can purchase an extended warranty on almost any coach. The least expensive time is when the coach is less than 12 months and less than 12k in mileage. Dave Gardners # 877 673 1880. CGH 07 AFF 6767

On my 2002 Allure, I had a DFS Service Contract which, I believe like most policies, must be purchased before the end of the first year of service. A seven year policy includes the first year (when you don't need the policy, but it is part of their timing model).
If you wait until the end of the first year, you just get to hold onto your money longer and hope the the policy cost does not go up due to inflation, not the waiting.

What to look for in a policy: I believe it is called a "exclusionary" policy, meaning that the policy specifically lists the items THAT ARE NOT COVERED -- regular maint parts, damaged by vehicle accident, etc. Everything else is covered. They said even the CC Slide gaskets were covered, because they were not listed by CC as a maintenance item. The "NOT COVERED" list is simple and easy to understand.

When you have selected a policy, before you purchase it, make a test call or two and pretend you are calling in a problem -- then have a nice chat with the adjuster after explaining what you were just doing. With DFS, I got to the adjuster within one to 1.5 minutes.
The service shops have been amazed at the ease they got their authorizations and reimbursements -- which is done by the dealer directly charging it using DFS Visa number.

(I had a Sable which came with a different kind of agreement and company. Both the dealer and I found, at different times, that we were on hold for well over an hour waiting for an adjuster -- who then insisted on a teardown and adjuster inspection (who took three days to get there).)

If you sell the coach to a private party, the policy can be transferred for a $40 fee, or the balance of the policy time prorated refunded -- for example, if you happen to trade to a dealer.

By next July, I will get another "exclusionary" policy for my new 2007 coach. Cost may be a bit more, but I am very pleased with my peace of mind over the easy at making claims and getting quick approval.
