A handy source of info regarding CARS is the Consumer Reports mag.
Every April the entire issue is devoted to CARS and is available in libraries, newsstands, etc. One section, "Which Vehicles Hold Up Best" / "Used Cars"; includes "Trouble Spots".
Annually, Subscribers are sent a Q-aire, part of which includes their experiences with their auto repairs. From those (must be statistically significant) responses "Trouble Spots" are evolved.
A quick glance at the color-coded graphs covering 14 areas, egs, Trans., Susp., Elect., BRAKES, etc. reveals, in gen'l, that Chev., Dodge, Chrysler, GMC, Jeep, etc have had BRAKE problems. It appears some brands have inherent problems not likely related to towing.
