The exhaust pipe on my 2000 Allure was rusty looking and ugly due to use, age and exposure to rain, snow, etc. I wanted it to look nice.
I found the piece of pipe that extends out the side of the coach is only 7 inches long and 5 inches in diameter. I went to a Cat Truck parts shop to see if they would have chrome or stainless steel exhaust pipe that would fit. They had a piece of chrome pipe from a wrecked truck. They sold the piece to me for less than $5.00. It required some effort to remove the old piece of pipe, but I was successful. My exhaust pipe is nice and shiny now.

Dave,
You did good! A new one cost me $40. I'll check for used next time. I had to grind the old one out. How did you get yours loose?

Hi Steve,
You made my day with the price savings. I did not know they were available.
After loosening the clamp, I used and old screwdriver and hammered it between the pipe and the muffler flange. I also used WD-40 and let it soak and loosen the rust. After a while, I used a hammer and tapped the pipe from side to side. That really broke the rust hold.
I was in no hurry to do the job. It took me 3 days of letting the WD- 40 do its thing.
If I had a grinder, I would have used it. I had thoughts of using a torch, but opted not to use it so close to the fiberglass.
Have fun,
Dave

Dave,
You have much more patience than I have. I used a 4" grinder to grind a 1/4" stripe in the inside. It then came right out. I don't know if you noticed but the 2003 Allures & Intrigues now come standard with a polished stainless steel exhaust tip. They must be listening! I did think the rusty tip was a tacky feature on such a nice line of coaches. When I saw your post I thought well I'm not the only one who notices the "little" things.
Have fun in your travels........................Steve
