Seems everything needs to be replaced now on our 2002 Allure. Thanks to those who responded to our question about tires!
Has anyone experienced getting new 8D batteries that are larger than the originals - and don't fit in the battery tray? We have researched replacements and find that the "stated" measurements on new ones seem to be about 1/2 inch longer than our original Champions. In case the numbers are true, any ideas for easy fixes?

Look at the Lifeline Batteries. Pricy but in my opinion worth every cent. Have had mine now going on 7 years (house batteries) six years (chassis batt.).

Typically the data contained in the charts reflect the maximum height, width and length. If the battery case has a larger cap area on the top side, then you are seeing those measurements. The battery may still fit the battery tray.
Another alternative is to use Trojan golf cart batteries. That is if you do not mind using wet cell batteries. They do require scheduled maintenance checks. Personally, I perfer a wet cell battery over the AGM and other sealed batteries. There are several posts in the photos section that show some of the installations.

I agree with Jim Hughes regarding golf cart batteries. We have been fulltimers for over 8 1/2 years and have gone as long as four+ months without plugging into electricity. We charge with solar panels and when necessary, the generator. That takes a lot more recharging of the house batteries than most people do. Golf cart batteries can be recharged many more times than 8 D batteries and their "foot print" fits into the same area as your current 8 D. If you have any extra room do to the number of batteries you use, you can use 2X4s cut to fit to keep the golf cart batteries from sliding around. They have to be hooked up in series to make each pair equal 12 volts, then each pair hooked together.
If you think Trojans (excellent brand) are too expensive, Sam's Club has cheaper ones (even cheaper than Costco) and can be replaced by any other Sam's Club under warranty. If (?) they don't last as long as Trojans, they are a lot cheaper and you still get your money's worth. Three pair of golf cart batteries are enough for most people, but I use four pair and they fit in the same space as your two 8 Ds with a 2X4 between them and the starting battery and a 1" board in front for a tight fit.
