Had such great help from the group on my last question that I'll test with another one.
Our coach was built with the dash mounted Pioneer 5700 unit, the unit with the motor driven screen but that only occupies a single (approximately 2" height) slot. It was built without the navigation module, Pioneer AV88DVD, that I would now like to add.
Problem is that Pioneer has already discontinued the add on navigation module. I have watched and bid on ebay but the nav module typically bringsabout $600 itself. Knowing that it is already discontinued makes me wonder of the viability of paying so much for a product with diminishing support. The constant evolution though means whatever I do will likely result in an obsolete product within a year.
The large screen is wonderful but I know of individuals who have had problems with the retracting mechanism. Am considering the purchase of a Pioneer high end multi unit that includes navigation and a double height fixed screen. This of course requires a double height slot for mounting.
Do any of you know if there are any obstructions just behind the dash that would preclude a double height instrument being installed?
Also, this will require a GPS antenna installation. Has anyone out there accomplished a clean antenna installation with all wires hidden or only commercially? The GPS antenna on my boat is mounted beneath the fiberglass and works very well. It would be my preference to also install the GPS antenna in the Allure beneath the fiberglass roof to eliminate additional roof leak possibilities.
Your experiences will be appreciated.

Gerry I had CC install the Pioneer. Some do not like it and feel the GPS is complicated and confusing. I have XM and GPS going all the time. I like the unit and it fits in the same locations. Oh if you have XM or (sat. radio) you do not need the GPS antenna you already have one.

Thanks for the come back. Yes, we presently have the Pioneer 5700 and activated/operating XM radio but no navigation module.
Which Pioneer unit did you have installed? Is it the double stacked height?
It is a great thing if the XM antenna also functions as the GPS, would save just about all custom install issues it seems. If the Pioneer is difficult to operate I would consider other products but it seemed Pioneer would be the easiest fit as all the other units including rear camera and the premium surround sound units are Pioneer presently.

I will get the model number as soon as go to the coach. The GPS unit is the same fit exactly. I gave my son the old unit for his truck. So I know about the interchangeability first hand.
The pioneer is expensive when compared to a Garmin. Also Garmin has better software but it just doesn't fit as neat.
I will try to post data this weekend, or contact me directly and I will call you back.

I do not knowif this will help or if it will fit but you can purchase a headunit like the one that came with my 08 intrique for around 1200 to 1600 on the internet. I added on the navigation for 305

Different subject but I believe you are the person who knows what the engine numbers are on the Cummins recall. Could you let me know what the numbers are?
Thanks

Recall numbers, 46543077 thru 46603939, had one engine in that group that blew and the replacement was in same group, got rid of coach as soon as I got the notice, blow one engine and you never want another one.
