Hi Folks,

At 51,000 miles and 7+ years, the Air Dryer Cartridge(109493X) and the Purge Valve(800404) were replaced. After reading the directions for the valve replacement, it was necessary to remove the air dryer assemply from the coach to clean the inside bowl and cavities. There was small globs of gray grease throughout the inside of the assembly.
Removal was straight forward - 3 air hose fittings and 6 bolts. The hose and dryer assy fittings were blue taped to prevent contamination.
The exterior of the air dryer assembly was cleaned with paint thinner prior to disassembly. The purge valve requires an internal snap ring removal tool - NAPA snap ring pliers 1715. The 5/8s nut should not be over torqued(just a little tighter than snug) as the o-rings do the sealing. Use only the gray-pink grease supplied - apply to the inside flat ring of the valve as well as all the o-rings. the grooved O-ring is installed at the small end of the the valve.
Looked for a year for a remaned cartridge and used Rebuilders Enterprises Inc (708 430 0030)in Illnois; they sell the 109493 for $65 and $10 shipping to California via UPS. Ebay has their same product.
Be sure to return the cartridge within 30 days so a core charge is not applied. The purge valve replacement is required when the cartridge is replaced and sell for about $100.

I have a 99 Intrigue and cannot find anyone willing to take on the job of replacing the air dryer filter. Don't know about your coach, but my dryer is located above the rear axle and no one wants to do the job. I have had it to at least four facilities and everyone says no thank you!
