Just replaced my heater core, 98 Intrigue. CC sent me a procedure, pretty good but the illustrations were somewhat vague. Developed a leak in the core near Albuquerque. Bypassed the core using one of the hoses. Did all of the work via the compartment under the driver's window for the bypassing. Would have been much easier if I had removed the AC heat exchanger assembly.
If anyone is interested I can send or post the instructions sent by CC along with some comments and sketches that should make the task easier. CC said they though the task should take a dealer around 6 hours. Probably took me 12. New heater core was 3/16" longer and the input pipes were different, needed to modify some of the attachment bolts and brackets.

Called CC and they said that there is a pump in lines that carry the coolant to the core so plugging instead of bypassing may not be a good idea.

Please send me the heater core information. Or of course you could post it on this site and then you would not have to send to all of these emails.

Thanks,

A few folks were interested. We just landed in Orlando. I'll send it out in he next day or so. May decide to upload. Also may send to CC Tech support. They faxed it to me, too old to have emailable version. I did a text conversion. Tech support was very helpful and responsive.

I'm a late coming to this message. My sister (computerless) has a 98 Intrigue, #10636. We think the heater core is leaking up front, losing two gallons of collant per 1100 miles. We cannot find any leaks. CC replaced the heater core twice. Now we're going to have to do "something". We would any appreciate any information you can give us.
