Can anyone tell me where the entry step cover motor is and how to gain access to it? I think one of the wires from the dash switches has come loose or is corroded. The two interior switches quit operating the step cover motor a couple of days ago.

Brian, on my 03 Allure it is on the left side, sorta under the driver's seat near the electrical bay. Mine did the same thing and I ended up changing the micro-switches that are located inside the beem where the rack and pinion for the cover is located. In my coach, this beam can be seen at the ceiling of the forward electrical bay on the left side.
It runs right to left (as apposed to for and aft). For, a quick fix I would rap on the beam with a hammer. That did the trick every time and might last a day or two. I kept doing this until I got around to changing the micro-switches, which took 4 hours +. Good luck

Larry,
You were right on!!! A couple of "raps" on the beam in the electrical bay did the trick. I'm sure the rest of your cure is right on as well, but my mechanical ability wouldn't fill a thimble, so I'll have to wait until I can get it fixed somewhere. In the meantime, I'll just "tap" the beam when I need to. That fits perfectly with my mechanical ability and I don't feel threatened at all. Thanks again.

Hi:
I cannot answer your question, but.....
When my 2003, Intrigue, step cover quite working I was told by a CC tech that the motor, etc., was made in Junction City. They were then made by the firm that makes the handicapped scooters across from the Dari Mart Office. You have probably seen it. I called them and they were willing to repair it. You can call Kerri and perhaps she can give you the name of the firm and a phone number.
