Title: RC7GS no display or led

we were excercising our genset going down the road -- the gen was turned on from the rc7gs panel -- when we went to turn it off the display was blank on the rc7 and none of the led's lit
in checking, the inverter (RV2012) seems to be OK based upon the LED on the inverter itself -- but I can't get it to invert...was told that if the inverter was off before the panel failed that it would stay off regardless of the switch on the inverter

so, in calling xantrex, they say that the 2012 and the rc7gs rarely fail (of course our 2012 failed 4 months ago due to the overheat problem that CC fixed) and that it is probably the cable
we're going to get or build a data cable to try but wanted to know if anyone else has had these symptoms and what is the best way of routing a replacement cable if that is the case

thanks -- '06 Allure

Just to let everyone know that the problem was the remote panel (RC7/GS) itself -- we had tried replacement cabling which did no good and received a panel from CC...plugged it in and it was good to go again.
