How to check trans oil level without using dip stick.....

Using a pushbutton shift selector, simultaneously press the UP and DOWN arrow buttons.

A two-minute countdown begins when the following conditions have been met: Engine is at idle; Sump oil is at operating temp; Trans output shaft is stopped; Trans is in neutral; Oil level sensor is functioning properly.

Oil level will be displayed at the end of the two-minute countdown.
During the countdown, the display flashes and a count down occurs reducing by one digit every 15 seconds (8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1)
After two minutes, the shift selector displays the oil level data as in the following examples:

oLoK Fluid level is correct

o,L,L,o,1 or OL, LO,01 Fluid level 1 quart low o,L,H,I,1 or OL, HI,01 Fluid level 1 quart high

To exit, press Neutral

Displaying Diagnostic Codes:

Simultaneously press the UP and DOWN arrows twice.

If no codes are present it will display --
If codes are present, it will display up to five codes, newest first.

Using code 25 11 as an example:
Code list position: d1
Maincode: 25
Subcode: 11

The above will repeat. Press the MODE button to move onto the next older code.

To exit, press neutral.

Diagnostic codes can also be cleared.

In addition to Herb's great write-up, Allison has a video they offer that shows you this procedure plus how to drive with their World Transmission. I believe it was obtained for free.
