Thought some of you might be interested in this. I am not a rocket scientist when it comes to situations involving electricity, so when I excercised my generator yesterday, I was alarmed when the Silverleaf on the Dash read 0% load, even tho the generator was running and producing proper voltage. I went to the remote House Silverleaf Screen in the Bath area and looked, and it showed incoming voltage and approx 20 amps draw (I turned on some appliances to create a load as Onan says to do when excercising the generator.) Everything seemed to be operating normally.
I called Silverleaf, and apparently they learned as recently as two weeks ago that Onan generators only report (communicate) % load on one leg, so if you are using appliances on the leg not reflected in the load %, it will show zero! So the load % readings on the dash screen are pretty much useless as I see it. Just another little tidbit.
