Without the revenues National was getting from Country Coach gone, when Bob Lee & Investgment Group bought CC back, many predicted it was only a matter of time before that Bankruptcy would happen.

I was cruising the net and found these 2 new CC recalls:
97 (2007-2008) Country Coach Allure motorhomes equipped with Atwood sealed burner ranges. The range and slide-in burner tubes leading from the gas manifold to the burner heads had a depression or "kink"? in the exterior bend restricting proper air flow and gas mixture leading to a possible carbon monoxide leak.
45 (2008) Country Coach Inspire motorhomes equipped with Caterpillar C9 diesel engines. A fuel pump failure will dilute the engine oil with fuel and may cause the turbocharger to fail and cause the loss of throttle control without warning.
Just a heads up for the model and year owners. You might want to call CC to see if your unit is affected.

Unfortunately, this is just the beginning for what "In My OPINION" will happen to alot of RV Manufacturers in this country.
The Rising Cost of Fuel, RVer's not replacing their coaches year after year (and there are alot of those folks out there, that get a new coach every year)
Unless the costs of Motorhomes and other RV's stabilize and manufacturers start using quality parts and equipment, their days are numbered.
Consider this: The majority of us are all in the Baby Boomer era, my Wife and I are at the tail end of them. Our Children will never be able to afford $400,000 plus motorhomes, hell, they can bearly afford to buy a new house for that much money, much less afford a luxury motor coach. So, our children are the ones to basically keep the industry going or NOT! NOT is more likely!
I think the Industry realizes this and is moving to try to stay in business through our children. Unfortunately, with Diesel pushing the 3.50 plus and even over $4.00 in some areas of the country, who is going to spend that much money to fill up a motorhome, when they are just scrapeing to get buy and pay for food and rent.
Then as mentioned with National RV and Fiberglass problems, I'm sure it goes deeper that that! But, RV sub-manufacturers, ie. Dometic, Norcold, etc, have to start building better products that last longer.
Yes, unless things start to change drastically in the next 5 years, you'll see other RV manufacturers fall by the wayside. The Competition will get even stiffer.

I think you are wrong when it comes to what your kids will be able to afford. All the 40 year old kids I know make more money then we made at that age and they will also have our money to spend. Our kids think Bob Evans is a low class restaurant and they don't want an RV right now because they think hiking with a tent is more fun.
I do feel that RVing will change but only to the extent that we will go to closer places and burn less fuel. Last summer we drove 9000 miles in our 05 Magna but next summer we will only go 4000 miles and not drive Cross Country. We will still attend the Class Reunion but by air and motel and that is good because the Class Reunion will sell out again and there will be more space for other coaches. Don't count the industry out because of high fuel prices, Look at history, people forget the high prices quickly, only us old guys remember 29 cents a gallon. Even the rolling TURD is no longer a big Turd, just a little smaller one.

Darn you guys--now you are making me feel old..... I was driving 70 miles round trip 5 days a week in a Pontiac GTO (making $525 a month) and was buying gas from one guy close to home at .32 cents gal. and getting the car hand washed free once a week. Dang, I wish I would have kept GTO mucho dinero now.

Gee, I must be older than all of you. I remember my dad filling up the '54 Ford at 4 cents/gal. While he was filling up, the station across the street came out and lowered his price to 3 cents/gallon.
