Re: towing vehicle
We tow a 2002 Acura MDX and at page 238 of the owners manual the procedure is to "Shift the lever through all positions (P,R,N,D5,D4,D3,2,1). Shift to D5, then to N. Let the engine run for three minutes, then turn off the engine." And, of course, leave the ignition switch in the ACCESSORY(1) position.
We have only towed for 2000+ miles, but so far no problems. If we are traveling with only a overnight stay (without unhitching the toad) we put the transmission into park and remove the key when we arrive and follow the above procedure the next morning befor leaving.
We paid $500 less than the MSRP for the MDX in Orlando, Fl. but, as has been said by others, the dealer would otherwise not deal. We initiated the sale via the internet.

We also have an Acura MDX.
We have towed the car for about 6,000 and are currently on a trip thru Canada and will have another 7,000 on it before we are finished. It works great, and is so easy to set up. The only negative we've found is that the GPS does NOT have maps of Canadian roads ---- may try to find an Acura dealer in Canada to see if they have one for the roads here.
