We started out on a trip today. Everything was going fine in our '98 Intrigue with 330 Cummins for 30 miles and then the Allison began downshifting and the engine brake light came on (it wasn't turned on). The coach finally stopped and left us on the side of the road.

Trying to start several times worked but it appeared some relay was going off and on. The Trans would go to Neutral and the engine brake light came on again.

We tried to limp home but finally everything stopped. The engine would not start.

I have checked and we have plenty of power, nothing was overheated, all fluit levels are fine. The ony thing that was strange was the continuous engine brake light.

The few times I did get it to start and to go into gear it would run fine for a few miles and then begin to limp at approx 30 mph with more black smoke than usual. All the displays on the trans shift control were off even though it kept running.

Appears to be something electrical. Anyone have experience with anything like this?
