Yes, Ohio Turnpike weighs you as you approach the tool plaza. They charge by weight on each axle and they charge by the number of axles. The other year I tried to get on with my Prevost with the tag lifted (by me on purpose) just before I went across the scales and they would not let me on. I told them I must have bumped the "tag" lift switch by accident and they left me go thru the turn-around and retry the scales. This time I had the tag down and I passed. I use the Ohio and Ind. T/pikes almost once/year lately. No problem as long as I leave the tag down. My rear "set" of axles weigh in at 29800 pounds (2 axles), front axle 15500 pounds (I don't have my log book handy to give you actual 6 corner weights.)

I was just wondering...... I know that the OTC has been rebuilding most of the Toll Plaza's to do that(weigh as you go on). Makes things much quicker and easier, at least for the toll people. Do not confuse the Service plaza's (rest centers) with the Toll plaza's. Whole different thing. :) John
