Last August we had generator no start problems in SD and the repair shop cut and spliced the fuel hose rather than doing it properly and replacing the whole hose. I complained to no avail. I just had a competent shop in JC replace the fuel hose and the return hose. I could not believe the cracking on both hoses all the way back to the fuel tank. Seems to me the hoses should last a lot longer than 5 to 6 years when it costs $8.25 and $7.25 per foot. May be wise for some of you to inspect your fuel lines on your gensets if they are a few years old. I was really disgusted when I saw the lousy job the Rapid City dealer did, especially for what they charged me.

Macke,
I just had to replace the fuel supply line and return line going to our Hurricane Diesel Boiler. These were Gates Rubber products. It was interesting that the model numbers on the supply line to the Hurricane was different than used on the return line and those used on the Generator lines. I replaced the Hurricane supply and return lines with hoses manufactured by Aeroquip a Divsion of Eaton Corp. They use these in marine applications. They'll be there when I'm gone.
I didn't have to change the Generator lines as they appeared to be just fine. I wrote to Gates Rubber regarding the short life of there product. They responded essentially admitting that the model of hose used on the supply line was "not there best product". I'm puzzled as to why/how Country Coach happened to use a different Gates part number on the supply line to the Hurricane than any of the other fuel hoses on my coach.
