It seems that there are a few people having issues with there radiators, ours failed pulling in the gate at home. My question is are they replacing them with a different type and are they changing the mount system??.... CC is closed till monday, so I am just looking for all the info I can find till then!

The radiator on my 04 Allure went out in 06. CC replaced it under warranty even though I was out of warranty because the manafacturer has recognized their product was substandard and they have elected to make them good.
I believe the replacements are aluminum on coaches up through the Ingrigue, and steel on models above that. Even so, the replacement aluminum radiators are beefed up and have better welds.
The easiest way to test for an aluminum radiator is to put a magnet on it. If it is aluminum the magnet won't stick.
Good luck.

Art & Penny,
We have an '06 Inspire and had to have the radiator replaced after 10,000 miles. It had just started to leak when we caught it. I asked if this was going to be a regular event and I was told that CC is replacing our aluminum radiators with steel and it should last my lifetime. The service center that did ours said they have done about 500 of them and it's not just CC but Monaco, Fleetwood and others. When you do the radiator it's a perfect time to upgrade the exhaust brake since the radiator is out of the way. We did and like the new brake better.
Good Luck,
Kathy

I too had heard from dealers and repair shops that CC was replacing the bad aluminum radiators with steel. After the bad radiator on my 04 Allure was replaced in 06 I tested it with a magnet and found it was not steel. I contacted CC about this and received the following reply:
"When Radiator Specialties redesigned the parts we use they basically came up with 2 designs. The part for your coach is still aluminum construction ? different thickness of materials and improved welding proves.
The steel and copper part was developed for the higher horsepower (500 HP and above) is used in the Magna/Affinity line and some Intrigues."
Kathy, you could easily test this statement from CC by touching your replacement radiator with a magnet. If it does not attract, then you don't have a steel radiator. Make sure you are touching the radiator and not the charge air cooler or A/C condenser. Look for the large coolant hoses going into and out of the radiator. Reach within the fan cage
between the fan and radiator if you can.
Will look forward to your findings.

George,
I will check it tommorrow and hope my arms are long enough - plus I have to find a magnet. It was actually the service tech at Colton Truck in Southern California that told me it was steel. Let you know as soon as I know.

George,
I just got the coach back from putting in a hard disconnect for the house batteries and it was too hot to get under there. I will find my magnet tomorrow and test it. Let you know as soon as I do......
