Anyone else have problems with the plastic latches on the storage bays breaking? I have lost about 7-8 of them. They break and then you have to open the bay by pushing the latch manually, then the broken part falls out.

Also, I have sent a couple e-mails to the parts dept (parts@... (parts@...)) at CC and I am not hearing back from them.
Anyone else?

Thanks!

I'VE BROKEN 2 WHEN THE DOOR HAS SLAMMED SHUT. TRY CLOSING THE DOOR WITHOUT LETTING IT SLAM SHUT.

Yep - my method has been to shut the door gently, then push each edge to get the latch to engage. Still break...

When I purchased my '05 last month, I had 6 that were broken. Dealer replaced. So far so good. but I have learned not to let the doors drop, not even a little. What a pain.
Did a search. Look up 25288. This is what I do. But no guarantee that they will not fail again.

I have replaced almost every latch, So now I am really delicate when I close the doors. On one of the packages that I purchased from and RV parts store, the part number.and description was Fleetwood latches.( so that might be a clue as to why they are cheap and flimsy) I also found another same type latch made of Teflon material ( the latch portion is white) instead of plastic and they seem to last longer, but does take some extra effort to install them, a little filing and and the mounting screws holes are different.

Same problem (06 Allure). So far have had 6 latches break. I stopped replacing them and started to use a contact cement to re- attach them which seems to work 3/4 of the time.

It appears that these are made of Nylon.
