Title: Hydraulic Filter Help
Post by: Joe Allen on August 21, 2008, 01:30:16 pm
Yahoo Message Number: 40529 (http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Country-Coach-Owners/conversations/messages/40529)Changed my filters several years ago, used Cummins part # 84101B, paid about $8/filter. Couldn't find that part #, called Cummins and NAPA, no luck. Called CC parts, they gave me another part #, 84220A, my price from CC, about $17. Went to NAPA, their cross to their filter about $70. Cummins does not show the 84220A as a valid part #. Looked on line for a Nelson, they show a 84101B for about $8 but they show now description and need to order on line, can't find a distributor. There are 3 filters in the system, so the $70 per is not a good solution. Any help, may just order from CC when we land someplace. tnx

I jump on line a year ago and cross referenced sizes and found $ 8.00 filters in town (a Denver filter warehouse, Vanbarco Inc.) Made two alum. adapters for different Dia. but aprox. same height and worked out great.

Yahoo Message Number: 40533 (http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Country-Coach-Owners/conversations/messages/40533)I just checked my parts list from my 99 Allure and it used Nelson filters P/N 84220A. I think I bought mine from Cummins and they cost about $5.00 each

Yahoo Message Number: 40535 (http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Country-Coach-Owners/conversations/messages/40535)Donaldson or Nelson would be my bet.
With the numbers you have, call a HD truck shop, International dealer, Cat dealer, Peterbuilt, you name it. Their service department should be able to cross it to anything available.
good luck, j

Mine are Nelson #84220A. I purchased them through a Cummins dealer. They should have them in their network.

Yahoo Message Number: 40555 (http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Country-Coach-Owners/conversations/messages/40555)Joe go to Spartan RV Chassis - Class A Motorhome Chassis Manufacturer (http://www.rvchassisparts.com) and look there. It is really Spartan Chassis and they use the same filters.I have a 87610A and it is 4inches across and 5 inches high with about a 1 1/4 inch hole in the middle. It is a Nelson filter. The price is 8.50. They have a lot of parts for Diesels and a good price. Jerry Wessel

Yahoo Message Number: 40564 (http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Country-Coach-Owners/conversations/messages/40564)I buy all my filters (including Nelson 84220A) at a great discount from Inland Truck. They advertise in the back of FMCA magazine.

Yahoo Message Number: 40577 (http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Country-Coach-Owners/conversations/messages/40577)www.ryderfleetproducts.com. 800-759-6479. $8.92 each. I did not check shipping price. When I bought mine a few months back you had to buy 6 at a time (called a case).
