It's time to buy tire covers for my new to me, '04 Inspire.
I've done considerable research but can't make up my mind.
I do not want the "slip over the tire" models because I don't want to get down on my hands and knees to put them on.
I do like the look of the "cover the wheel well" models but I'm not happy with the thought of putting snaps on my coach.
I would also like them to compliment the coach colors.
What do you folks use?

This may get into the personal preference category but, since the manufactures seem to say the new tire formulations make tire covers unnecessary, I don't bother any more. Then again I have a barn (toy store?) for storage. If your rig sits in the baking sun when not in use you may want to do it. On my last set, my wife made them - not beautiful, but cheap!

I use 2 of the turtle sandbox covers while in storage. They are the green ones . Funky, lots of coments but work great.

Mine is also stored indoors but I was comcerned about the time we're on the road. We're probably out about five months of the year including two in Florida in the winter.
I do like the MCD brand but wonder if a peel and stick track will stay on. Also not thrilled with a $400 price tag.

I have had the MCD covers since March of 2005. They were installed at the MCD factory and are not peel and stick. The tracks are attached with screws every four inches or so from one end to the other. Have had no problems with them whatsoever. Don't use the steel rods in the bottom every time I use them and that doesn't seem to cause a problem either. Mine were the first ones they ever made for an Intrigue and it took two days to make the template and actual covers because of the elliptical nature of the wheel well opening. For a couple of years it was my coach that they used in their ads in Destinations and other mags where they wanted to show a Country Coach application.

They are in MCKinney, TX. They have full hook ups at their factory location that are free for their customers.

We use "Jumbo Bus" size tire covers from made by:

The storage bag says they're for tires 39" to 42" diameter. Our tires (12R22.5 Michelin XZE's) are about 43" diameter and the covers are plenty large.
The covers were about $10 each 5 years ago. Coastline usually has a booth at larger RV rallies.
Attach a length of shock (i.e., bungie) cord to the corner grommets before installing the covers. Then you can just slip the shock cord over the back of the tire (from the top) before installing the tire cover. The shock cord will be on top of the axle but it will securely hold the cover in place. We've never lost a cover and never have to get on our knees.

anyone have a suggestion regarding recommendations for tire guards/covers for 42" wheels...need 6...Camping World has them for $32.94 each, online, Polar White. Are they Good, Bad or Indifferent?

I have the same covers but in black. Black colors have much higher UV protection, white colors the lowest UV protection. Very pleased with the covers, they stay on in high winds.

But they look pretty classy and are durable. But I would offer this consideration. If you arrive and set up before you use these and your air leveling system dumps the air in the front or rear or both... It is hard to reach up in the wheel well and get these on. You almost need to restore travel mode first and then relevel... PITA. If I had it to do over again I think I would buy the screens that snap onto snaps installed on the wheel well. They look pretty good, in black they don't show dirt particularly and are easy to snap on and off.

I've used covers from Coastline Cover Co. (800.216.1664) for the last 10 years. Coastline has supplied nice "goodie" bags (not their contents) for various FMCA rallies over the years. Price was $20 per pair back in 2003.

I also have the same covers in black. Look good, just install before you level or it gets a little hard on the fingers. I have had the same set only in white on my 5er for 8 years and they are still good.
