A friend of mine has the opportunity to get a membership free, all she has to do is the transfer fee. I don't know anything about these, are the campgrounds nice? Nice campsites? Can anyone fill me in?

I have found that there are several things to look at when considering a "re-sale" membership. TT has 3 sections, TT, Naco, and Leisure Time. From what I understand, some of the older memberships do not include all of these sections. Also, there are Nationwide, Eastern and Western memberships and they each have different costs for joining. So, your friend needs to find out just what "type" of membership that is being offered.
I have only visited a couple of the TT campgrounds. They have been nice. I have a friend currently at a park on the east coast that is so bad that he wrote a letter to the corporate office. From going through the catalogs, they all appear to be rustic in nature with trees and "nature". Memberships like this can be a good deal if you use them but expensive if you don't.
And, just for the record, you can "negotiate" the prices down considerably when talking to the sales people.

Hi: We have been members of TTN for a couple of years. I would not recommend joining at this time. They are not keeping up the preserves and are letting non members in. They also have a lot of on site storage that is taking up a lot of the best sites. There are a couple of the preserves that are really nice. You cannot take a big rig into a lot of them. They are old parks and you also have to be careful of the electrical. Most only have 30 amp and if the park is crowded you will have trouble. If you go to yahoo groups TTN you can read all the complaints about this organization. It seems that all management wants is to make money and does not care about the members after they purchase. Maybe you should look in Western Horizon Resorts. They are much nicer.
