Searched the archives for this, but apparently there has been no discussion on the subject of refrigerator cooling problems.
Basically our Dometic side-by-side gives up while camped when outside temperature approaches the mid-90's. Recently in south Georgia, the refrigerator side topped out at 56 degrees. The freezer remained frozen, but was not as cold as normally. At lower outside temperatures there has been no problem, and the situation seems to improve while traveling. I don't think there is any mechanical problem and I've checked for obstructions, etc.
Has anyone had experience with installing fans in the stack, or found other solutions? Thanks.

We had a Dometic S by S in our last coach and I was never happy with its performance until I installed a 12V fan in the coils of the fridge. It is a simple project with a thermostat that attaches to the coils and a 12 volt wire to power the fan. I got mine a Camping World, although I am sure there are many. From that point on, we only had to worry about the fins in the back of the fridge freezing up, but never about the fridge not staying cool.

Tom,
You may want to try moving the little plastic piece attached to your frig. fins which is located on the right side of the frig. This item moves up and down and it controls the temp. I'm not sure what they call it but we moved ours up and it helped keep the frig colder. Sometimes this item slips down when driving.
