Hi everyone

Just a reminder, if you are going to the CCI Snowbird rally in Fort Myers, Florida and you want some parts from CCI you can still get them on the service truck that is heading east soon. By getting you parts this way you save the freight and sales tax.

And if you are going to have something fixed at the rally that needs a part they may not have on the truck now is the time to check that out and get it on the truck.

Anyone ever attended or planning to attend the Snowbird Rally Jan 2003? Since I am new to Country Coach, this will be our first CCI rally and first rally ever. Not sure what to expect and plan for.
Are there thing I should do to get the best enjoyment out of it? We are taking that entire week off so we can also attend the Super Show in tampa the following weekend. I just registered this morning for both of them. I need to get in the routine of these so it all falls together when we retire in Jan 2004.

Any and all suggestions and comments are welcome.

Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving Holiday!

My wife and I will be at the Fort Myers Rally in Jan. The rally is held at a convention center outside of Fort Myers. It is usually dry camping on good grass although there are some hookups if you are lucky to get one. Two years ago we ran 100 feet of cord to a 15 amp plug, wasn't much but that time of year you don't need much. The rallies are well done, with 2 or 3 dinner meals, cocktail parties, one outing for the group, seminars on engines, trans, chassie, coach etc. Bob Lee will probably be there and the will probably be an ask questions time during the rally. Of course the tecks and the parts truck will be there and you will get service on 3 items free.
If you think you will need a special part for some sort of service it's good to get it on the truck now before it leaves JC. We are having some filters, touchup paint and gasket material sent out. By using the truck you save sales tax and shipping. You also may be looking for something corrected on your coach for which they don't have a part, so get it now from the parts department. There will also be some outside vendors there and a wash and wax wagon. We always get our coach waxed while we are there. Its not cheap but a good wax once or twice a year goes a long way and they also do the roof and wheels.

I have been told that you can't arrive until the rally starts so arrange your schedule accordingly, we always take this time to stop at Lazy Days in Tampa for our annual oil change and other service work, plus any items CCI can't or won't do. Call now because they are very busy this time of year. There will be show coaches there and also sales people. The meals are usually very good and in years past they have had some great seafood. It's also a great time to corner one of the CCI people to ask special questions and build a relationship for future use. Putting a face with a phone call helps. It's also a good time to talk to other people about your problems and concerns.
One year I help 2 people figure out how to work their Bose system with their dash radio.

We enjoy the rallies, they are good fun and educational with lots of socializing and good entertainment. Look forward to seeing you there. We normally have a green frog sitting in front of the coach and my wife calls our coach the frog. I am also president of Country Cousins.

Jim and Barb....you picked an excellent first rally because the location provides some hook ups (E&W) and all meetings and seminars are in the cicic center. Some rallies are dry camping and meetings are in tents. I attended two years ago and it's a good sign the club is returning so soon. Don't expect to see any CC models at the Tampa super show. It's still hugh but Lazy Days has their big sale that month so to see any CC....Monaco...Holiday Rambler...Beaver...Safari...American Coach....you'll have to go to Lazy Days...which is not a bad idea anyway. CC shows Prevost conversions at the Tampa show and you can look at Fortravel and Gulf Stream but that is about it for high end class A's. If you can take the time off....you might want to try a large rally....the southeastern FMCA at Brooksville airport in February. It's one of the largest (if not the largest) regional FMCA rally....about 2000- 2500 coaches. Good luck...look me up in Fort Meyers if I can help in any way. The CCI group and rallies are great.
