Geico Insurance

I don't have GEICO insurance, but I recently was hit by someone who did and GEICO was great. The two vehicles were cars, not motorhomes. The damage was minor, but you would think it was major by the way they took care of us and our vehicle. I have and love USAA, but if I didn't, I would have GEICO if their motorhome coverage is as good as their auto coverage. The service they provided kept things cool between the parties involved and that is very important.

I, too, have had USAA insurance (for over 50 years) and I found their RV insurance very expensive. When I discussed it with them, they agreed. I took out a policy with Progressive, which was cheaper by a few hundred dollars. Curiously, the RV coverage that USAA was using was actually issued by Progressive, and I could get it cheaper by dealing directly with Progressive. USAA normally will not issue an umbrella policy unless they insure all of your vehicles, but in this case they waived that requirement and did issue an umbrella policy to me. Thanks to all the postings about Geico, I will get a quote from them and hopefully save a little more money. Maybe even enough to buy an adult beverage or two.

One thing I'm wondering about- do they match Progressive's decreasing deductible provision?

GEICO does not do the progressive reduction in deductibles, you would have to do it yourself if you want them powered. My price was based on the exact same coverage I had with Progressive.

You might want to give Gilbert RV Insurance Agency in Orlando, Fl a call. They specialize in high end coach insurance. They insure many of the Nascar drivers coaches. The same coverage for our coach was over 25% lower than GMAC. My policy has the dimishing deductable, actual replacement cost for the first 5 years with actual price paid after the 5 years, with the policy written for a one year period instead of 6 months. The actual rate quote is based on the state your coach is registered in. They also give a FMCA discount if your state allows.

I had the same coverage Chuck and Mary B have, but it was a Progressive policy. The disappearing deductible is a particularly good feature, but I learned the hard way to carry a separate glass breakage policy. I was at zero deductible ( after four years ) and broke a driver's side windshield. I was happy to get it replaced free of charge, but then learned that I had to start over on the deductibles for both collision and comprehensive. Luckily , I had no claim before disposing of my coach this year. I might add that Progressive had a check in my hands in just a few days for the prorata unearned premium.
