370 HP shift points?

Yahoo Message Number: 3752
Can anyone advise me as to what rpm range this engine w/Allison 4000 trans should shift for max performance? As I read the book on the trans, it says something about the trans "learning" on it's own?

Will this work itself out, or is it set by service tech? Seems to shift early, but I am new to this, under full throttle, it shifts around 2000 rpm, + or -.
.....

Also, just a small rant to help me let off steam, the new 03 Allure 1st Ave came with the Panasonic in dash with the flip-up monitor (which is partially blocked by the steering wheel, and is hard to see on a bright day) and the built-in rear camera, GPS and XM radio.

In addition to the many manuals, it comes with a laminated sheet of instructions, (8 x 11 double-sided) just to instruct you on how to reset the backup camera to display EVERY TIME the house power is turned off and back on.

It took me two hours just to figure out how to display the XM radio id to start service.

I am working on setting the correct time, stay tuned. (play on words) ...

And the best one, when I took delivery, the service tech at Holland Motors in Holland, Mi, thought they had goofed some wires up when they installed the toad brake system, because he could not get the camera to display, and tore the dash apart looking for the problem, before he came accross the sheet explaining how to display the camera after 12 volt power is turned off and on.

Bill,

I would try the steps to 'reprogram' that are detailed in the manual. There is also info on the Allison web site that has been helpful and educational for me. I was never happy with my attempts to do it in my '98. My 2002 shifts like a dream at all power levels.
I think that Allison can reset the shift pattern in memory so that it will relearn your driving patterns.
