I'm not an expert here, but maybe an air leak in the charge air cooler?

Bill I had a 1999 magna that developed a crack in the charged air cooler but my pressure was 12psi but should have been24psi the size of the leak could limit the loss. There are several places that leaks can occur have it checked by a good tech they should be able to locate the leak if that is the cause for your mpg change.

2006 magna

I had a similar issue, but with two problems. The sensor on the crossover pipe was leaking and the

charge air cooler was leaking, Line wouldn't hold the pressure for 5 minutes as Cummins prescribed.

So they welded a nut on the crossover pipe and installed a new sensor, and CC sent me a new charge

air cooler under warranty. Before the repair the coach would seem to develop full horse power, but the

midrange performance was a little flat. The fuel milage was around 7.7 to
8.o mpg. The next time I

went to the factory they pulled up the original dyno tests and retested the unit. My sustained

horsepower went from 270 at 2050 rpm to 346 to the ground at 2050 rpm in 4 th gear. if you figure a

20% loss for the transmission, etc thats 432 HP. Pretty good for an ISL 400 with 25,000 miles at the

time. Now I have to push the coach hard to get less than 8 mpg and out here in W Texas and New

Mexico at 63 mph its right at 9 mpg. I spent the summer tooling around the Rocky Mts in Colorado,

i.e.. Durango to Silverton, Ouray to Montrose, Salida to Leadville, Denver to Colorado Springs, Buena

Vista, to Chama, and Farmington and averaged 7.7 mpg..2004 Intrigue 11731 42" Ovation 44,000 lb.

including the Odessey. TWI
