Suspension question

I've recently experienced something new with my suspension. When I am driving, and the coach leans to the left or the right - cornering, or a non-level road - it sounds like one of the ride height valves is releasing air - as though it is trying to level the coach - a long release of air. It only stops when I am back on level pavement driving in a striaght line. I still have a green light by Travel mode on the HWH panel, and the coach still levels properly when parked. Any thoughts on what is happening here?

Phil, I could be wrong on this but during our visit to the CC factory last year we talked alot about the suspension. The understanding I came away with is that as the coach rocks and rolls, the system will releases some air in the appropriate corners to assist with leveling on the fly, which would be the air release you hear. Once things settle down it levels up again. My HWH is the same as yours and I hear frequent air hisses too but our suspension, like yours, works just fine.

Thanks Lee. That is encouraging. I raised the question because in 3 years with the coach I have never observed that behavior before!

I heard from a friend w/an older air-leveling CC that he was driving along and the FL corner went down to the frame bumber, then stayed. It was a malfunction of the air leveling. Happened again later on another corner, requiring service a second time; if yours has goes in for service, I'd ask if there are serviceable parts that can be changed to prevent going thru this on all 4 corners one at a time. I had a mine drop so low on the passenger front one time that I thought I had a flat. Pulled over, raised it, leveled it, put it in travel mode and it went right back. While I was pulled over I noticed my battery voltage was low. Check my alternator and it wasn't outputting anything. Rebuilt my alternator and haven't had the problem again. Low voltage, I guess.

it turns out that I had suspension damage from a pothole encounter. One of the sway bar brackets broke, and the ride height hardware was also damaged. I found this out when I next drove the coach, and was riding on the frame. Boy - those airbags REALLY make a difference!

I had a similar issue several years ago. When I called CC the tech told me not to drive the coach until it was repaired. I was able to get some parts from ra ep. from Provost in IN. He was able get me a sway bar kit and I had the CAT service in Boise do the repair. Be sure you have the ride height adjusted after repairs are made.
I could not get the parts thru CC and there was no info where to get them. I had to find another source. If you need the Provost guys email let me know and I will try to find int in my records.
