Replacement Fluorescent Ceiling Light for 2004 Allure

Replacing the bulbs does not work, it is still dark. Unit is in the bathroom area with another functioning light on the same circuit, so I think the unit has failed. I have a part number, 17918255, but no manufacturer. It appears the reflector shield for the fixture is pop-riveted in and so replacement of the ballast is not exactly easy. Any suggestions as to source for replacement or solutions other than that would be welcome.

I had the same problem with my kitchen sink light and got one from Thin-Lite here. Note that even though it was the same model with the same outside dimensions, I had to cut a bigger hole for it to fit. It was about an inch or less longer.

Or, maybe I got the light from another source (can't remember now), but it was a Thin-Lite.

Sent mine back to thinlite, they either fixed it or replaced it, don't remember the cost but is was less than buying a new one. Call or email thinlite,

I replaced some of my lights with LED strips, I removed the ballast, if you want my old ballast you can have them. Its not that hard if you have a pop rivet gun, or you can use small bolts to replace the housing. I also have a line onto some CCFL lighting which uses 1/2 the amps and a very long life. PM me and I can let you know how to do it.

Thanks, John, looking forward to it. LED lighting seems like such a natural I am surprised we do not have dozens of manufacturers to chose from. Must be something there I don't understand.
