Disconnect Switches Question

Yahoo Message Number: 65534
I have turned off both chasis & house disconnect switches for storage w/o elec hook-ups. But noticed inverter control panel (overhead above dash @ front) is still on AND control panel for Hurricane (in bay w/heater unit) is also illuminated?

Won't these items create a "draw" on batts?

Thanks -

If your Hurricane control panel is mounted on a vertical bay wall...... the on/off switch is located on the lower left hand inside corner.
The control panel is drawing juice as it continues to monitor. Coach will continue to draw from battery as there is micro draw. CC tech service advised me that not a good idea to leave the batteries without a trickle charger for long periods of time.

Jody,

The inverter is hard wired directly to house batteries. You would have to physically disconnect. However, I think if you turn off the inverter and charger, you should have extremely low or no current draw from the inverter at least. I think the Hurricane brain is connected to the chassis battery somehow. There may be a fuse or breaker somewhere that you can pull. Maybe in the battery bay up top?

Thanks to all for the info. As I don't have power at this storage place, I'll just have to keep close check on it for now - Thanks

Jody,

There are two shut off switches with your inverter. There is an on/off switch on the inverter itself and then an off position at your remote panel. The on/off switch on the inverter should always be in the off position and that allows the remote panel to control it. Many times people leave the switch on the inverter on and then no matter what you do at the remote panel, it will stay on.

To put coach in storage

Inverter switch off - remote panel switched off

Normal operation

Inverter switch off - remote panel switched on

Hope this helps..
